Small, but growing, corporate law firm in the Chicago Loop seeks a full-time legal office administrator/paralegal. The firm’s practice focuses on transactional matters for a multitude of non-profit organizations. Experience in the legal field is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will be well-organized, sensitive to deadlines, detail-oriented, professional, and an excellent communicator. Applicant should have at least one year of experience working in a professional office setting, preferably in an administrative or office manager position.


Areas of Responsibility
·         Filing annual reports to maintain corporate status and solicit charitable contributions.

·         Prepare all documents required to form corporations, partnerships and Limited Liability Companies.

·         Work directly with attorneys and clients prior to and during closings of real estate and corporate transactions.

·         Maintain trademark master docket of international and domestic trademark matters. Research the availability, coordinate and manage all new or proposed trademark applications.  Draft correspondence regarding potential infringements under attorney direction.   

·         Support attorneys in preparation of applications for tax exemption.  Check status of, maintain compliance, and renew exemptions where needed.

Education, Work Experience, Skills

·         Qualified candidates will possess at least one year of experience in a professional setting, but outstanding recent graduates will be considered. Additional qualifications include excellent analytical and organizational abilities, solid communication and management skills, creativity and initiative. Bachelor’s degree preferred.


·         Technologies/Software
MS Office Suite is required. Experience with PCLaw legal practice management system desired but not a requirement.


·         Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Ability to multi-task, be a self-starter and manage workload independently is essential.
