Part-Time Paralegal (student appropriate)
Boutique, general practice law firm seeks energetic, detail oriented, paralegal. Individual must be pursuing a paralegal certificate. Litigation experience is a bonus, but willing to train. The
ideal candidate is a self-starter, possesses exceptional organizational and time management skills, and can assume a high level of responsibility, while interacting professionally and
effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff.
This position will provide direct support to multiple attorneys (both litigation and corporate), as well as work in conjunction with the administrative team. We expect this position to be filled by someone interested in filling multiple, simultaneous, roles who is ready, willing, and able to assist any member of the team with any tasks required to get the project done. No task is too big or too small.
For example, the paralegal will:
• Prepare and e-file briefs and legal documents
• Prepare and answer discovery
• Review document productions
• Research local rules of procedure
• Draft routine filings (e.g. attorney appearances, notices of filings, notices of motions)
• Cite and fact check
• Perform substantive research
• Handle hearing and trial preparation
• Prepare and file articles of incorporation
• Correspond with opposing counsel and court clerks
We are looking for someone who is technology oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of other legal technology platforms a bonus.
This position will require 20 hours per week, in-person in our River North office. Position will start at $20 per hour.
