Under general supervision, provides legal administrative support ensuring the efficient operation, organization, and distribution of legal documents, the maintenance of the firm’s docket of cases, and the preparation and filing of court pleadings.
Receives and reviews legal documents including: motions, pleadings, interrogatories, court orders, and subpoenas; documents necessary information and distributes to appropriate attorneys or staff.
Organizes and files documents and confidential records.
Retrieves documents for court cases.
Provides information from files to authorized individuals.
Maintains security and confidentiality of records and files.
Files notices, pleadings, discovery, depositions, and other items with Circuit Courts via e-filing and hand delivery.
Enters items into calendar/docket system.
Tracks the status of litigated cases, hearings, pre-trial motions, and trial dates ensuring deadlines are met.
Prepares various case status reports for staff and management.
Performs general clerical duties including typing, answering the phone, and document deliveries.
Performs other duties as assigned.
We are looking for someone with three years of general office experience in a legal services environment or a combination of education and experience related to the position.
