OMS National Insurance Company (OMSNIC) has an exciting opportunity for a career driven individual with a medical, insurance, claims, or legal background to join our team and defend our insureds as an Associate Claims Analyst.
OMSNIC is the leading provider of medical professional liability insurance to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons nationwide.
As an Associate Claims Analyst you will develop relationships with our policyholders and panel defense counsel, working collaboratively to investigate claims, develop defense strategies, and obtain positive outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct claim investigations including, but not limited to, assessment of policy coverage and evaluation of liability, causation and damages, moving claims towards resolution
• Appoint and collaborate with defense counsel and coordinate case strategy
• Direct investigation and defense of claim files
• Timely and accurate claim file documentation
• Prepare case summaries and present claims for committee meetings
• Participate in pre-trial and settlement conferences or mediation
• Determine settlement value and conduct negotiations to settle claims, when appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree required; might consider a demonstrated equivalent professional experience
• 1-2 years’ experience in the legal, insurance, medical, or claims management field, preferred. May consider educational background in lieu of related work experience
• Proven relationship management expertise
• Working understanding of medical records
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency with emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint
COMPETENCIES:
• Ability to interact with policyholders, legal professionals, external vendors, management, and board members
• Effective written and oral communication skills to provide information in a clear and concise manner and to communicate with variety of stakeholders
• Effective analytical skills to gather information, analyze facts and make recommendations
• Ability to prepare robust reporting yet provide broad scope overview and summary
• Strong negotiation skills
