A boutique Chicago law firm is seeking a corporate paralegal with at least three years of related experience to support the corporate transactions group. Applicants should possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and a desire to collaborate with attorneys and other paralegals on a wide range of corporate transactions with a concentration in secured lending. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with corporate/transactional paralegal experience that is looking to grow their careers with a dynamic and well-established law firm.

Primary responsibilities will include the following:

–          Draft, edit and revise loan documents, corporate certificates and resolutions and other documents, instruments and agreements

–          Support all aspects of secured lending transactions including review of due diligence, document preparation, closing support and post-closing administration

–          Compile signature pages in anticipation of closing and assemble closing binders

–          File Uniform Commercial Code financing statements in appropriate jurisdictions

–          Initiate and review lien and other searches with third-party vendors

–          Manage due diligence for secured lending transactions

–          Coordinate with title companies and review title policies for accuracy and completeness

–          Other responsibilities as required by clients and attorneys

Job Qualifications:

–          Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required

–          Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred

–          3+ years of experience as a paralegal in a corporate/transactional setting

–          Experience reviewing and drafting loan documents or contracts

–          Experience working with title companies and reviewing title policies

–          Strong written and verbal communication skills

–          Strong attention to detail

–          Adept at using technologies including a proficiency in Microsoft Office (mainly Word and Excel)

–          Positive attitude, desire to build professional working relationships with people inside and outside of organization and eagerness to develop new skills

–          Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

–          Excellent organizational and time-management skills

–          Experience with iManage, Worldox, Adobe and TimeSlips a plus, but not required
