Student Intern

This student internship is located in downtown Chicago, IL. The internship provides students with an opportunity to gain work experience, interact with knowledgeable and experienced professionals and earn school credit if offered by the student’s school. The Interns will report directly to the Clerk of Court. Dates and hours are flexible and will be determined by the Court and each student.

The Interns will function as student trainees and the duties will include:
• Reviewing and preparing confidential security documents.
• Scanning, shredding, copying, filing, and locating files and documents.
• Assisting with data entry functions.
• Developing and preparing statistical reports.
• Assisting the Clerk of Court with research assignments and projects.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

A candidate must currently be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, and have experience in analysis, research, and writing. The candidate must be able to display professional and positive demeanor and appearance appropriate for a court environment (business/office wear-professional). Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. Preference will be provided to those pursuing a major in Criminal Justice. A candidate must adhere to court confidentiality requirements, Code of Conduct for Judicial Employees, computer security policy and social media policy. The selected candidate will be subject to an FBI fingerprint check as a condition of employment and may be subject to periodic updates.
